A Beginner’s Guide to Practical & Responsible Use
Artificial intelligence is changing the way real estate professionals write, market, communicate, and serve clients. But using AI responsibly requires more than typing a quick prompt and hoping the robot behaves itself. Spoiler alert: it will not.
Ethical AI Foundations for Real Estate Professionals is a beginner-friendly, 3-hour live class designed to help real estate agents understand how to use AI tools in a practical, ethical, and compliant way.
This course explains AI in plain language and shows agents how to use it as a drafting assistant, not a decision-maker. Participants will learn how to create stronger prompts, review AI-generated content for accuracy, avoid Fair Housing concerns, and protect client confidentiality. The class also integrates key ethical responsibilities, including NAR Code of Ethics Articles 1, 2, and 12.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand what generative AI is and what it is not
- Use basic AI tools with more confidence
- Write clearer prompts using role, context, task, constraints, and tone
- Draft listing descriptions, client emails, and social media content more responsibly
- Review AI output for accuracy, Fair Housing neutrality, and ethical risks
- Recognize when AI should not be used, including legal interpretation or confidential client matters
- Build a simple ethical AI workflow for daily real estate practice
The course includes practical examples, real estate scenarios, and guided discussion on how to use AI without creating unnecessary risk. Topics include listing descriptions, client communications, social media content, AI boundaries, broker supervision, confidentiality, and documentation.
